About Braylon
Braylon Edward Meade was a 17-year old student at Washington Liberty High School who was an inspirational member of the Arlington community and a beloved son, brother, and friend. He tragically passed away on November 11, 2022, when he was struck by a drunk driver.
Braylon was a caring, loving, empathetic, funny, and creative young man. He was a diligent student, with a 4.3 GPA at Washington Liberty High School in Arlington, and an incredibly hard-working student-athlete, pursuing an IB diploma in his senior year of high school. Braylon was a multi-sport athlete, but his true love was playing basketball. He played on the WL freshman, JV and varsity boys basketball teams. He played WL football and ran cross-country as a freshman. He showed his leadership on and off the court.
Braylon volunteered his time by tutoring younger students in math and mentored elementary school students in English. He gave back to the community as co-president of Hoops for Cancer and successfully organized a 3x3 basketball tournament that raised funds for melanoma research. Braylon also served as a coach for an Arlington recreation league basketball team. He was admitted to and, like his siblings and his parents, would have attended the University of Michigan in the fall of 2023.
Braylon will be forever missed by his parents, two siblings, girlfriend, and countless friends, neighbors, and members of the Arlington community.
“Braylon’s legacy is a legacy of kindness, a legacy of empathy, a legacy of hard work, a legacy of lifting others up, a legacy of scholarship, and a legacy of humor.”
